Jermal Blanchard
Jermal Blanchard is a licensed attorney and holds a Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. He currently works as an attorney with the Shelby County District Attorney’s office. In this role, Jermal manages hundreds of criminal cases ranging from murder to petty theft. He specializes in handling cases of domestic violence.
The Memphis native is no stranger to public service, having spent several years as a board member for local non-profit institutions focused on educating students and expanding opportunities for disadvantaged youth from low-income homes.
Through the course of his career as an attorney, Jermal has helped redirect many individuals who have come into contact with the criminal justice system with various tools and skillsets in hopes to reduce recidivism. He was tasked with developing Project WIN in the DA’s office which helped divert younger defendants with a limited criminal record toward alternative means of rehabilitation. He was able to redirect young offenders onto brighter paths which included entry into job readiness certification programs, GED and post-secondary programs.
Jermal is enthusiastically dedicated to his community and strives to show others the importance of giving back.
